Solution To Problematics
Issue
-
We needed both players to be stimulated at the same time
-
Creation of a unique toy (sheep flock)
-
Satisfying asymmetrical cooperation
Solution
-
To stimulate both player at the same time, we went from players having a specific task in order to unblock the other player; to have both players doing specific tasks at the same time to unblock the sheep flock
-
We needed the sheep flock to feel both natural and fun. To achieve that, we decided to create different sheep archetypes which will have unique behaviors (ex: gourmet wants to eat berries when close to bushes, ram gets angry when being carried/barked at)
-
To create a satisfying asymmetrical cooperation, we needed both players to have really different actions with different outcomes; the shepherdess can easily control each individual sheep by carrying or petting them. On the other hand, the dog has the upper hand to control the flock in its whole by barking
